Is Buba Log free?
Yes. Buba Log is free to download and use, with no advertising, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Do I need an account?
You do not need a Buba Log account. Add a baby name and date of birth to get started. The app currently supports one baby profile.
Where is my journal saved?
Your journal is saved on your device and can be used offline. Device backups depend on your Apple settings.
Optional iCloud sync stores a copy of your baby profile, logs and measurements in your private iCloud storage. It works between Buba Log devices signed into the same Apple Account. It does not share a journal between different Apple Accounts. AK Forge cannot access your private iCloud journal through its developer console.
How do I turn on iCloud sync?
Open Baby Profile, turn on iCloud sync and read the confirmation. Enable it only for the same baby on each device. Make sure each device uses the same Apple Account and has iCloud available. Keep Buba Log open while changes sync; updates also sync when you return to the app. You can use Sync now in Baby Profile.
Reminders and running timers stay on each device. Turning sync off keeps the local journal and the existing iCloud copy; it does not delete either one.
Why has a reminder not appeared?
Check that the reminder is scheduled for a future date and time, and that Buba Log can send notifications in your iPhone's Settings. Focus modes and notification settings can affect when you see an alert. Create reminders separately on each device.
Can the app diagnose a growth or feeding problem?
No. Buba Log records the information you enter and shows summaries. Growth centiles use WHO reference data for birth to 12 months. They are a visual record, not a diagnosis or a medical target. Speak with a health professional about concerns with your baby's health or growth.
What happens if I remove the app?
Removing the app can remove its local data. Offloading an app is different from deleting it, and backups may retain copies. Do not rely on uninstalling to erase your journal everywhere: an existing iCloud copy can remain and sync back when enabled again. Contact us if you need help understanding removal options. We cannot retrieve or erase your private iCloud journal on your behalf.
My app will not open. What should I do?
Check for a Buba Log update, close and reopen the app, and contact us if the problem continues. Please contact support before deleting the app, as local journal data may be lost.

Your journal stays on your device, with optional sync through your private iCloud database. No Buba Log account is required.
Information you enter
You can enter a baby's name and date of birth, a growth-chart selection, feeding and sleep records, nappy records, skin-to-skin time, immunisation and health notes, and weight and length measurements. The app also saves local preferences, reminders and timer information.
These details are stored on your device. The app does not send your journal to an AK Forge server. No Buba Log account is required.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, the app saves and merges your baby profile, journal entries and measurements using Apple's CloudKit service in your private iCloud database. Devices must use the same Apple Account. The current app supports one baby profile per journal and does not provide cross-account family sharing.
AK Forge cannot browse the contents of your private iCloud journal through its developer console. Apple provides the iCloud service under its own terms and privacy practices. Your storage availability and device or iCloud backups depend on your Apple settings.
Reminders and active timers are not synchronised by this feature. Turning iCloud sync off stops the app's journal synchronisation but keeps both your local data and the existing iCloud copy. Turning it off is not a request to delete data.
Advertising, tracking and analytics
Buba Log contains no advertising and does not use advertising identifiers or tracking across other companies' apps and websites. The current app does not include an AK Forge analytics service or send your baby journal to analytics providers.
Apple may process service information to operate iCloud and the App Store. Diagnostics you choose to share through Apple's services are governed by your Apple settings and Apple's privacy practices. Please avoid including private baby information in feedback or crash descriptions.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Buba Log schedules reminders on your device. You can change notification permission in your iPhone's Settings and remove reminders in the app. Reminders are device-specific.
Support correspondence
If you email team@akforge.co.uk, AK Forge receives your email address and the information you choose to include. We use that correspondence to answer your request and investigate the problem you report. Our email provider processes messages to deliver and store that correspondence.
Please send only the information needed for support. We do not need your Apple Account password or your baby's full journal. Ask us if you would like support correspondence removed; we will explain any information we need to retain for an unresolved request or a legal obligation.
AK Forge Ltd is responsible for the personal information we receive in support correspondence. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and maintaining the app. We retain correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the request, handle related follow-up and meet applicable legal obligations. You may object to this processing by contacting us.
Keeping and removing your information
Your journal remains on your device, and in your private iCloud database if sync is enabled, until you remove the relevant information. Deleting an entry while sync is enabled is synchronised to the journal on your other connected devices. Device and iCloud backups may retain earlier copies according to your Apple settings.
Deleting the app can remove local data but does not by itself delete an existing iCloud copy. Restoring a backup or enabling sync can restore stored information. AK Forge cannot retrieve, correct or erase your private journal remotely. Contact us for guidance if you want to understand the available removal options.
Parents and carers
Buba Log is intended to be operated by parents and carers. Children do not need to create an account or contact us to use it. Please enter only information you are entitled to record about a baby in your care.
Your privacy rights
For personal information AK Forge holds, such as support correspondence, you may ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction, and portability where applicable. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact team@akforge.co.uk to make a request. These rights depend on the circumstances. We cannot access or erase your private iCloud journal on your behalf.
If you have concerns, please contact us. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or your local data protection authority.
This website
This Buba Log support and privacy page does not load advertising or analytics scripts, set analytics cookies or use browser storage. Our website hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and protect this page. We also load typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives technical request information including your IP address; see Google’s privacy policy. This is separate from your baby journal, which is not sent to this website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its practices.
